About Beyond Maps:
Orienteering for Youth Development
In an era where the benefits of sports are increasingly recognised, Beyond Maps: Orienteering for Youth Development highlights the powerful impact of orienteering on young people. More than just a recreational activity, orienteering is a unique and holistic sport that enhances physical well-being, builds mental resilience, and fosters social connections.

This European project addresses critical issues affecting youth today, including sedentary lifestyles, poor mental health, and social isolation, with a focus on Greece, Austria, and Latvia. By increasing the visibility and popularity of orienteering, the project empowers young people through engaging in local and international training events and competitions in urban and natural environments.

Target Groups
The project targets school-aged youth, young adults, educators, and community leaders, with a special focus on making orienteering accessible to underrepresented groups. By fostering a sense of adventure and inclusion, Beyond Maps aims to inspire a new generation to embrace the benefits of this dynamic sport.
