Europe for Citizens programme of the European Union.

The project “EU Youth Zone” took a multilevel approach to encourage young people to use their voices and express their views and opinions on matters concerning the European Union, to understand European citizenship and Euroscepticism and develop ideas for future Europe, especially in the light of Covid-19 pandemic. The activities included research, debates as well and the development of quizzes on the EU as a mobile phone application.

The project was based on the concrete achievements of the European Union and on lessons learnt from history. It also reflected on current trends and enabled participants to challenge Euroscepticism and suggest possible actions that the European Union could undertake to foster a sense of belonging to Europe as well as to understand the benefits of the European Union and to reinforce the EU's social and political cohesion. A special focus was placed on the EU's response during the Covid-19 pandemic and whether it showed solidarity in the time of crisis.

The project was implemented from

1st April 2021 till 31st July 2022 in participating countries, Serbia, Italy, Greece, Albania, Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia.
