Project objectives:
The INTRA Games project aimed to create the space and material for intercultural and intergenerational dialogue in local communities through sports activities. We also supported the local communities in becoming more active and more involved in public spaces in their local communities.
We did this by creating a network of partner organisations and exchanging good practices on social inclusion through sports and traditional games.
We found ourselves training youth workers and coaches from diverse backgrounds so it was important to us to create a manual for traditional games that can be used by trainers, coaches, youth workers and educators. It also served as a purpose of empowering local sports communities and engaging diverse communities.
We aimed to foster inclusion among minority groups by organising local sports events and sharing best practices in utilizing traditional games for social inclusion.
The manual of each language group involved can be accessed by clicking the languages below.
The duration of the project was 18 months and it took place
in Athens, Greece / Vilagarcia de Arousa, Spain / Gent, Belgium /
Milan, Italy / Nis, Serbia.
