Beyond maps | Local Competition Event by 4C

The Local Competition Event of the Beyond Maps program was successfully completed last Sunday!

36 people came in contact with the Sport of Orienteering!

🏃 ♀️ What is the sport of Orienteering? Did you know it exists?

Orienteering is an outdoor sport that combines physical exercise, thinking and exploration.

Participants move around a designated area (forest, park or urban environment) with the help of a map and compass, trying to locate checkpoints hidden along the way.

The goal is not just speed, but also the ability to orientate, observation, and teamwork.

It is a sport that combines adventure with strategy, ideal for those who love nature, the city, and "treasure games"!

At this event we got to know orientation through a fun urban game that took place in the center of Athens.

Each team received:

📄 A special map of the area with target points

🎯 Goals of the game

📍Locate all checkpoints in the correct order

📍Return to the finish line within the projected time limit

📍Meet new people and develop orientation skills.
