One of the main aims of the program is to enable young people to discuss and exchange ideas on key issues that concern them and affect their lives. Within these contexts, the seminar was organized on the impact of the pandemic on the daily life of young people, their mental well-being, and the issue of gender equality.
The seminar was attended by 150 students and new people at the 5th High School of Nea Ionia, while experienced trainers did a variety of workshops, based on the principles of non-formal learning. The topics covered were the impact of the pandemic on the mental well-being of children, who faced confinement, distance education and social distancing. Additionally, expert trainers from the local team Hate Trackers offered 2 exceptional activities about gender discrimination and hate speech based on gender issues.
On the same evening, we discussed two powerful concepts:
1️⃣ Gender Issues – Civic monitors, experts, and youth gathered to discuss the ongoing challenges around gender equality and shared ideas for creating a more inclusive future.
2️⃣ COVID-19 Impact on Youth – We also explored how the pandemic affected youth access to civic actions and decision-making processes, shedding light on challenges and opportunities.
Thank you to the continuous supporters of the Civic EU project! We loved hosting this event that showcased further angles into the youth civic monitoring process!
