In the European Commission’s ERASMUS+ project “Young People - The
Future Civic Monitors (CIVIC EU)”, the Greek organisation 4C Cooperate
Communicate Create Change implemented the civic monitoring of
different areas of civic life, which is composed of three monitoring reports
from July to September 2023. The civic monitoring initiatives encompass
a range of pressing concerns in Athens. These initiatives address the
city’s commitment to urban development, public participation, and social
well-being. They include efforts like the “Great Promenade of Athens.”
project to enhance the city’s pedestrian-friendliness and cultural vibrancy,
discussions about the necessity and safety of a University Police force,
and concerns about the 28th October Square’s renovation and proposed
development.
