Janja garnbret

Born in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia, Janja Garnbret grew up with boundless energy and curiosity, climbing trees, doors, and furniture before she even touched a wall. She was often the only girl at competitions, and trained sometimes barefoot, with nothing but determination to carry her forward. From a small town, she proved that passion and persistence can overcome any obstacle.

Janja Garnbret turned her early passion for climbing into a career that changed the sport forever. She became the first athlete to win World Cup titles in both lead and bouldering in a single season. When climbing made its Olympic debut in Tokyo, she took the very first gold medal ever awarded. She won again four years later at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
